Below the map is a sketch of "Part of Table Bay" showing Table Mountain with ships and a rowing boat in the bay., UCT Libraries hold three copies of this map. The first copy (607a) has been restored and placed between acid-free boards. The second copy (607b) has handwritten additions: "Sketch shewing in red the proposed Reservoir, Line of Pipes and Engine House", "Old Quarry", "Proposed Reservoir", "Line of Supply Pipe", "Breakwater cutting", "Engine House", "Slip Ground" and "66 feet" marked out on the printed scale. This copy also bears the indistinct manuscript signature of the engineer responsible for annotations and sketches on the map. The signature may read "Robt McNair". The third copy (607c) is an enlarged photographic print of the second copy (607b). This copy omits the top, right and bottom borders as well as the sketch of Table Bay at the bottom of the map and part of the manuscript signature of the engineer responsible for the map., Day & Son.
