Cape Town is expanding fast, industrially as well as residentially. This aerial photo by John Smit shows Epping Extension No. 2, the latest municipal industrial township to be developed in Cape Town. Several factories are being built or have reached the planning stage there. Each site is served by a railway siding and roads and services are being extended to each section as it is developed. In centre background (in line with Lion's Head) is Epping Market. The Goodwood drive-in cinema is on the extreme right, and just above it and to the left is the Thornton residential area.

An aerial view of Marina Da Gama. Next month, building will start on a new townhouse block opposite the Visitors' Centre. The centre itself will be used as a boating centre. A private club called Club Da Gama is to be formed using the centre as headquarters as well as a place to exhibit boating merchandise.
