Description: Dredging of five million cubic metres of soil from Rietvlei, near Milnerton, started at the weekend. Picture shows the end of an 8.5km pipeline through which the soil, mixed with sea water, is pumped to Table Bay (opposite Paarden Eiland) to fill a huge area being reclaimed from the sea to extend Cape Town Docks. Reclamation will continue till November.
