Description: New national road into Cape Town begins to take shape: This aerial view from above the contour plough-lines on the Bellville hills shows the wide, white ribbon which is the path of the new national-road approach to Cape Town. The road, now being made, will have double-width traffic lanes and the route will by-pass the populous areas of Parow and Goodwood, seen on the left, as well as Wingfield airport. The new highway will open up a vast area of as yet undeveloped country.
