Holidaymakers on a small beach between Oudekraal and Bakoven tried to enjoy themselves yesterday in the teeth of a howling South-Easter gale which whipped the tops off waves, churned the open sea into a mass of white horses, thoroughly spoiling the Christmas week-end.
