The map also indicates the following routes: the route of Dr Barth and Dr Overweg in the Gharian Mountains, 2-24 February 1850; part of the route of Messrs Richardson, Barth and Overweg from Tripoli to Lake Tsad [Chad], 22 March to 2 August 1850; Dr Vogel's route, June to November 1853., Relief shown by hachures and spot heights., "Lith. by A. Petermann ..."., Includes an illustration of "Artemia oudneyi (Fezzan worm)."
