Sindiswa Mkonto and Nomonde Calata, widows of two of the Cradock Four victims, Cradock, 1997. The Cradock Four were a group of four political activists from Cradock who disappeared in 1985 during a trip to Port Elizabeth. Their mutilated bodies were found a week later. In January 1997, six members of the Port Elizabeth security police applied for amnesty for the killing of the Cradock Four. It was refused.
