Description: His name was Sydney and he lived in Langa. Sydney told me he earned all the money which kept his paralysed grandmother, his sister and his brother going. He did not know where his parents were. This photograph was taken on a Saturday evening on Main Road, Rosebank, 1981. On the following Monday morning I read a filler in 'The Cape Times' which told of a black boy named Sydney who was selling newspapers in Rosebank and was run over by a car on Saturday evening. He died instantly, the report said. The next day I started searching for his grandmother's house in Langa. She cried when I gave her the photograph of her smiling grandson
