The chief magistrate of Cape Town (Mr J.W. Van Greunen) administers the oath or affirmation to a group of members of the Coloured Representative Council (CRC) at its inaugural session in Bellville today. On the extreme right of the group (standing) is Mr Tom Swartz, leader of the Federal Party. The 60 members of the council went in groups of six to be sworn in soon after the start of the session.
