Undercover: the headquarters of a local African National Congress (ANC) cell was allegedly in a flat in this block in Wynberg. One of the 11 alleged ANC guerrillas (Jenny Schreiner) was arrested here. Police confiscated terrorist weaponry found in the flat. [Schreiner was one of 14 people detained under Section 29 of the Internal Security Act and charged with terrorism. The Yengeni trial (named after accused number 1, Tony Yengeni) lasted from March 1989 to March 1991, when the accused were finally granted amnesty.]
