Work on Bellville's biggest office block, Sanlamhof, is well ahead of schedule and when the contractors, Murray and Stewart, go on holiday they will have met all their deadlines to date. They moved on to the Sanlamhof site in June last year with two definite hand-over dates required of them. But Christmas last year they were asked to add a further (fourth) floor of 2000 sq m to the Sanlamhof block and by Christmas of this year to complete five further floors on top of the lower floors. In addition, they had to erect a 280 sq m service core (consisting of four lifts, toilets) to one side of the enlarged complex and to install the top half of a new central lift shaft so that it can eventually serve the new floors as well. All these deadlines will be met on schedule.
