Subject
-

-
Description
-
Visitors and tourists who delight in capturing with their cameras the many beauty spots of the "Incomplete Cape" will recognize this familiar scene view of Camps Bay and the Twelve Apostles, taken from the Glen. Two aspects, however, combining ancient and modern features, are depicted here. In the foreground is the old and famous Round House tearoom, built originally as a shooting box for Lord Charles Somerset. On the left is the ancient Round House Annexe - the feature of which as a Youth Hostel has been the subject of recent municipal discussion. The modern aspect lies in the middle distance where part of the amazing development of Camps Bay can be seen.

"Licence fees are going up but life must go on," seems to be the stoical grin-and-bear-it reaction of Grand Parade flower seller Mrs K Knowlden to the news that her trade licence will cost her more from next January. The new Licences Draft Ordinance, which provides for increased licence fees and application fees for 68 categories of business, goes before the Cape Provincial Council next month for approval.
