Description
-
The destruction of District Six was one of the worst insults inflicted upon the coloured people of the Cape by the National Party (NP). On a Sunday morning in 1974, three boys from a nearby shack strolled passed the demolition, sat on what used to be the pavement, and watched the destruction. Others also gathered, but no on said anything for a long time. When people have experienced too much pain, their senses become numb. The boys then got up and ran over the spaces of what used to be District Six
