The cartouche shows a map and a woman standing on either side of the text scroll with two children carrying parasols perched atop the scroll, another child talking to the woman and a further child sitting on the scale statement box. There are two engravings of sailing ships in the Indian Ocean., Depths are indicated by soundings and ocean shallows are marked with dotted shading., The bar scales on the map are given in Dutch, Spanish, English and French miles., Oriented with north to the left., This map has been damaged in the cartouche and scale areas. The cartouche is partially hand-coloured. Some text is missing.
