Man seeks race change for love: A young white Cape Town man is to appeal to the Government to re-classify him as a Coloured person so he can marry his Coloured girlfriend. "If they won't reclassify me Coloured, I will leave the country of my birth so that I can live legally with the woman I love and have children by her," Mr Dirk Brits, a 32-year-old fitter, said yesterday.

Mr Tom Swartz, leader of the Coloured Representative Council (CRC), and members of the CRC Executive left Cape Town by air today for talks with Cabinet Ministers in Pretoria tomorrow. The executive will be joined in Johannesburg by another four CRC members who will make up the rest of the nine-member delegation. From left are Mr P.J. Pietersen (local government), Mr S.S. Cloete (rural areas), Mr Swartz, Mr W.J. Louw (welfare and pensions) and Mr W.J. Bergins (education).
