In yesterday's Argus a letter from a reader says: "In these times of grumbles and grouses and dissatisfaction in general, praise be to the Observatory station master for the beautiful garden he has created on railway property." But modest Mr Airth says the praise should go to the Railways horticulturist. "I only look after it," he said. Mr Airth, who is a keen gardener, finds soccer nights at Hartleyvale the bane of his life. "Clearing the garden of bottles and tins can be quite a business," he said.
