On verso: A woodcut containing the words "Des gantzen Landts Africe/ ein gemeine beschreibung" and showing "a phoenix rising from the sun at the top and a group of men at the bottom" (Betz: p. 93). Below this text is printed "xxv"., Cartographic authority, Richard L. Betz, has identified 15 variants of Münster's map of Africa.
