Description: This small Shepherd's Bush tree, Boscia Albitrunca, is located on a dune near the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park's landing strip. Kheis Brou, |Abaka Koper, |Una Rooi and Anna Swarts recalls how Lukas Bok attempted suicide in 1935 after he was driven mad with his unrequited love for Tibilas. Because of this the tree is also known as "the hanging tree". Images from this trip document the first excursions into the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park and were a central part of the work on oral history and mapping in the first years of research.
