Description: A colour map showing the living areas of the San within the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in 1960. The map's text - primarily based on the biography and recollections of Jakob Malgas - provides a brief history of the area revealing how the San community used to live. The original large camp, was west of the Auob River and nearby a camp site used by borehole watchers during the German War. The map also contains information about animals (springbok, bees, porcupines and fish) as well as important hunting and gathering grounds (including the annual collection of honey). [Scale included]
