This aerial photo by John Smit shows Epping Extension No. 2, the latest municipal industrial township to be developed in Cape Town. Several factories are being built or have reached the planning stage there. Each site is served by a railway siding and roads and services are being extended to each section as it is developed. In centre background (in line with Lion's Head) is Epping Market. The Goodwood drive-in cinema is on the extreme right, and just above it and to the left is the Thornton residential area.
