Smog over Table Bay, Cape Town
-
Subject

-
Description
-
Smokeless zones, which will probably be introduced in progressive stages in Cape Town from 1975, should contribute to reducing pollution over the city, which was particularly severe today as this picture shows. The view is from Signal Hill, but from Eastern Boulevard it was apparent that the major source of today's pollution was not the much-maligned Table Bay power station (centre foreground). The low-lying smog was most concentrated over Table Bay and Paarden Eiland and appeared to emanate from the harbour area.
