It also shows national boundaries and British troop transport routes from Plymouth and Portsmouth round the Cape of Good Hope to Durban and Delagoa Bay and the onward route to Bombay, India. The key shows forts and fortifications, the concentration of English and Boer troops, the position of the German colonial forces, battles in the revolutionary wars of 1880-81, English railways in the Boer states and other railway companies or constructions, undersea cables and telegraph lines, and German and British steamship routes., Relief is represented by shading., "Aus Habenicht, Spezialkarte v. Afrika u. Langhans, Deutscher Kolonial-Atlas.", The map folds into a paper cover to which the lower left segment of the map is glued. The cover incorporates text about the region entitled: SüdAfrika vom Politisch-militärischen Standpunste., There are two inset maps : "Haupttreks der Buren die zur Gründung ihrer Freistaaten führten" and "Goldfelder in Transvaal". There is an inset portrait of S.J. Paul Kruger.
