Antjie Kassie and her daughter Magdalena Kassie in Paris as guests of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to present on a heritage management project they launched with the South African San Institute (SASI). Magdalena Kassie played a pivotal role in promoting the language to San youth and the wider public. She passed away in 2010. Antjie Kassie played a key role the revitalisation of the N|uu language. She was one of the last recorded N|uu speakers. She died in 2013 at the age of 71.
