The Mountain Club of South Africa is responsible for the preparation of the map. Lithographed by Van der Sandt de Villiers Printing Company, Ltd., Topographical map of the Table Mountain area including the coastline from Sea Point to Kommetje's Bay [Kommetjie]. The map shows detailed features of Table Mountain including the Central Table, Back Table, Orange Kloof, Victorskloof or Kronen Dal and Modder Gat. It also indicates the location of the major water sources on the mountain including the Woodhead Reservoir, the Hely Hutchinson Reservoir and the Wynberg Reservoirs, as well as the Molteno Dam and the Newlands Reservoir at the foot of the mountain on its north and east flanks. It also shows the Wynberg Disa Stream, the Palmiet River, Camp's Bay Tram station and the route of the Camp's Bay tramline. Other peaks and ridges depicted are the Twelve Apostles, Little Lion's Head, Klaasen Kop and Constantia Nek. The key indicates (a) the Catchment area, Cape Town Waterworks, (b) the Catchment area, Wynberg Waterworks and (c) the Reserve (fenced). Also shown are heights of peaks in English feet., This sheet map was originally issued as a folded map glued into a cover. Both front and back covers of copy 717 are intact but only the back cover of copy 17 is still appended.

This flashback to 1936 shows the Victoria Dock in Table Bay, the northern portion of which the Railways now contemplate closing. At the East Pier is the Stirling Castle loading for Britain, at No. 7 Quay (to her left) is the Dunbar Castle, at No. 2 Jetty is the Italian steamer Sabbia engaged on the round-African service, and at No. 6 Quay on the left is the Hamburg-America line steamer, Rendsbuurg, on her way to Australia. Entering port is the African Maru from Rio, and at the South Arm is the Windsor Castle shortly before being re-engined and given two funnels. Waiting in the Bay is the Clan Urquhart, at the time one of the largest refrigerated ships in the world.
