The only model "T" Ford (1912 vintage) still going strong in Cape Town, will lead the Hospital Rag procession on Saturday Morning. The owner-driver, Mr G. Myers and his assistant (the man who cranks the car) Mr A. Gabb attracted crowds where-ever they stopped in Cape Town. The car, was given to Mr Myers by a Cape Town motor firm, to be used in the rag. It was originally bought from a farmer and has done so many miles the meter has lost count.

Mrs Althea Jansen, chairman of the Executive Committee of the Coloured Representative Council (CRC), visited Mitchell's Plain yesterday with other members of the CRC and management committee. A tour arranged by the City Council's executive committee began at the new town's visitors' centre, which opens to prospective home buyers next Monday. Mr David Jack, left, the City Council's director of planning, showed architects' models and sketches of various houses on offer. Beween them is Mrs Bronnie Harding, a Councillor, and on the right Mr Arthur Stanley, CRC member for Liesbeeck.

The Dromedaris, Captain D. W. Fletcher's recreation of Jan van Riebeeck's frigate which brought the first settlers to Cape Town, is a focal point of the Cape Town Festival. After the festival the full-scale model and inanimate crew will be taken to pieces and re-erected in other provinces. Later, plans are to have the 'ship' exhibited in Amsterdam, where already one of the glass-topped canal cruisers bears the name of the first Cape settler.

In time for festival: Mr Alexander Sinnet of Swift Street, Salt River, puts the finishing touches to a scale model of the Royal Sovereign, which was built in 1637. All parts of the model are hand-made and Mr Sinnet has tried to make everything as authentic as possible. It took him almost three-and-a-half years to complete the model and it will be ready just in time for a boat show during the Cape Town Festival.
