Woodbridge Island Bridge, Cape Town
Water, Infrastructure, ,
First Milnerton had the best view of Cape Town, then one of the finest racecourses in the Cape. Now it has a prize-winning bridge. The Woodbridge Island bridge has been judged runner-up for the 1985 Fulton Award, given by the Concrete Society of Southern Africa for excellence in the use of concrete in the building and civil engineering structures. The R1,4 Million bridge was built by an underwater construction company in a record time of four-and-a-half months from design to completion.
